one frame movement
Instrumental mood-hunting trio One Frame Movement draws from an abundance of backgrounds and
influences to contrive colorful and progressive compositions. Finding inspiration in late and contemporary
classical music, cool jazz, fusion, electronic orientations and many other weird places, One Frame
Movement combines its lush melodic themes with harmonic soundscapes and an improvisational
character.
Besides their live shows the trio wrote live soundtracks for silent films (Kunstencentrum BUDA) and music
for contemporary dance (Onder Stroom). In 2020 they got a residency and release show in creative
powerhouse Onder Stroom, Antwerp. That year they released their eponymous EP, garnering good reviews
and media attention in specialized Flemish press.
In June 2021, the band was invited by Brussels Jazz Weekend to be part of the live project Brussels Jazz
Alert. In July 2021 they were in summer residence at Het Bos. They were featured on the praised jazz
compilation album ‘Lefto Presents Jazz Cats 2’ (Sdban Records) in 2022. In September 2021 they played
new music during a live session in concert hall Flagey, Studio 1, which came out as a live EP ‘BRUSQUE’
in February 2023.
In fall 2023 they recorded new music for a future debut full length album.
